They were students when they moved into their first home together in DeKalb. Years later, we turned that address into a physical memory of the place where they first learned what it meant to share a home.

What kinds of places can become a Place Story?
Almost anywhere connected to a meaningful memory can be considered—a home, restaurant, building, landmark, neighborhood, travel destination, or another location that became part of your story.
What information do I need to provide?
Start with the location and the story behind it. An address, landmark, or map location gives us the geographic reference, while your story helps us understand what should become the focus of the design. If you have photographs, they're a helpful but optional reference—and it helps to tell us which building, location, or area should become the heart of the piece.
Do I need to provide photographs?
Not always. The location is the most important starting point. If you have photographs that show meaningful details or help explain your memory of the place, you can include them as additional references.
Can you highlight one specific location?
Yes. A particular building, address, landmark, or area can become the visual focal point of the composition while its surroundings provide context.
Will the model be geographically exact?
The location provides the foundation, but each Place Story is designed as a meaningful object rather than a technical architectural or planning model. We may simplify or interpret elements to create a stronger physical composition while preserving what makes the place recognizable.
Can I create one as a gift?
Yes. Place Stories can be created around a location meaningful to someone else, making them especially suited to anniversaries, weddings, moves, new homes, milestones, and other personal occasions.
How long does it take?
